Scotland’s patron saint is St. Andrew.
The National Day for Scotland is called St. Andrew’s Day. It is celebrated on 30th of November, which is a public holiday.
The Scottish flag is ‘the cross of St. Andrew‘, also known as ‘the Saltire‘. It is said to be one of the oldest national flags in the world, dating back at least to the 12th century.
St Andrew’s Day is a celebration which usually includes lots of traditional food, music, bagpipes, and dancing. Many Scotsmen, or men with Scottish ancestry, wear kilts to celebrate.
Scotland’s national flower is the thistle.
