Film Review: Black Swan

mumdad

Last month Eiichi and I rented ‘Black Swan’ on DVD from the video shop. I’d wanted to watch it for ages, especially after it won so many Oscars.

The film is a psychological thriller about a ballerina who wants to have the lead role in Swan Lake. In order to get the job, she has to play two parts that have very different characters. The first part is the White Swan, who is very innocent and beautiful. The second part is the Black Swan, who is more sensual and dark.

Natalie Portman is fantastic in the lead role of Nina. She is perfect for the White Swan part, but she finds it difficult to become the Black Swan. The film is basically about Nina and how her character becomes darker and more complex!

Natalie Portman won the Best Actress Oscar in 2010 for this film and I can understand why. She’s not only a great actress but a great ballerina too!

I really enjoyed the film. The story wasn’t as good as I expected, but overall it is a film I recommend you watch!
