The UK – England

England

Uk_map_englandEngland’s patron saint is St. George.

The National Day for England is called St George’s Day. It is celebrated on 23rd of April, however it is not a public holiday.

Some people wear a red rose on their clothes on St. George’s Day, however not many people celebrate St. George’s Day at all.

The English flag is called ‘The Cross of St. George‘.
In 1194, Richard I of England introduced the flag as the National Flag of England.
