Wales
The patron saint of Wales is St David.
The National Day of Wales is called St. David’s Day. It is celebrated on the 1st of March, which is a public holiday.
The Welsh flag is known as ‘The Red Dragon‘.
Although the image of the red dragon was used by Henry VII as early as 1485, ‘The Red Dragon’ only became the official Welsh flag in 1959.
Wales has 2 national flowers – the daffodil and the leek.
The leek was first used on the Welsh emblem in 1536, however the daffodil is more commonly associated with Wales these days. On St. David’s Day, Welsh people wear a daffodil on their shirt or their jacket to show their pride of being Welsh.
