Yorkshire pudding is an English food made from eggs, flour, and milk.
Yorkshire pudding is usually served with roast meat and gravy and is most commonly eaten during a traditional Sunday Lunch.
Ingredients
(Makes 4 large puddings, or 12 small puddings)
115g plain flour
2 eggs (+ 1 egg white)
175ml milk
salt and pepper
sunflower oil (for cooking)
* A 12-hole muffin tin
Method
Preparation
Heat your oven to 220C.
Drizzle a little sunflower oil into a 12-hole muffin tin, and place it in the oven to warm up.
Making the batter
Put 115g of plain flour into a mixing bowl and add the 2 eggs and 1 egg white.
Beat the eggs and mix together until the mixture is smooth.
Add 175ml of milk little-by-little, and continue mixing.
Add a little salt and pepper.
This is called the batter.
Cooking
Remove the warm muffin tin from the oven.
Pour the batter evenly into the 12 holes – less than half full is enough.
Bake in the oven for 15-20 minutes
The Yorkshire puddings are ready when they have ‘puffed up’ and browned.
Serve hot.
